I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO agree with those that were disapointed in Matt Damon's acting role in the Informant. What was he thinking? It was like he was on auto pilot at the very least during half the movie. I have to say, though, this was the first time he has diappointed me. So, I guess he was due??? Welllll, maybe! ....KarenB

Be ready to find the bad reviews true for you. I too did not find this to be a funny movie. But I did like it being light hearted.

I enjoy movies based on real life. To me, I found myself looking at it as more of a study, on how this real life person could have ticked? This movie reinforced my idea, that truth can be stranger than fiction.

If this were not a true story. I wouldn't have believed the FBI could have been involved with this guy for two years! Though the thanks they showed this guy for helping them nail top exc's, seemed to follow government's way of saying "Thank you." lol

If your not really into the Oct. gore movies. And can agree with the line from the movie Ground Hog Day, "Any thing different is good." You may get into watching this movie? I came out of the movie kind of wondering what it must be like for his wife to live with this guy???

Th at will teach me to read the reviews BEFORE seeing the movie. This movie was really bad. As others have said, the smart people left early. There is a blurb about the legitimacy of the story and dialogue that ends with the sentence; "So there." The whole bit was suposed to be cute.It failed as did the rest of the obvious gags in this disaster. It was really bizarre to see them cast Tommy Smothers as the Judge and not give him even one funny line. So why did they bother bringing him in for this 5 minute role? So weird. Don't waste your time or money

this movie made my wife's and mine all time top 5 WORST movies we have ever seen. was supposed to be a comedy, N O T !! we thougth it was just slow getting started, N O T !! not sure why we stayed for the entire movie, but we did. i guess with the price of tickets, we hated to leave. we should have. everyone around us walking out was saying the same thing, what the heck was that???

You know, I'm surprised the reviews on this site are so bad! I thought the movie was spot on. Matt Damon's performance is hilarious and if you don't find his character's narrations throughout the movie funny, than you probably don't jive with humor in this one. Myself and the three friends I was with all thought is was great. Maybe the biggest difference for us was that we had no expectations going in...didn't expect it to be hilarious, but it was. The movie is heavily character driven, so you have to get into the character to appreciate this one...if you're just looking for stand up type humor you're not going to get it. Go see it! ...and don't be afraid to laugh when others aren't...the subtleties are priceless!

I also went to this to laugh. I didn't. People during this movie left one by one. At first I thought they all had to go to the bathroom. Well, they never came back.

Essential, this movie is about a compulsive liar who keeps lying to cover himself up. There's enough of those people in the world, you get sick of them. Paying to see it, didn't make viewing these persons entertaining.

If you decide to watch, at least prepare yourself for disappointment!

VERY DISAPOINTING! It was advertised as a comedy and I went to laugh. Not so. I also thought the intro said the movie was based on a true story, but i don't know who it was. Perhaps knowing that, would have made it more interesting. I stayed thinking it might get better. Again not so!

    Utterly boring pile of garbage.

It has been several years since I've seen anything as disappointing as this. There were a few chuckles, but we should have got up and left like those smart people did during the first forty minutes of viewing.
I had my aunts and cousin over from England and I wanted to find a movie that all of us could enjoy, so we gave it a whirl.
To illustrate the point.... both of my aunts fell asleep during the show and my daughter asked..."why are we still here"?
My cousin, being an optimist, wanted to stay to see if the movie improved, so I reluctantly agreed.
What a mistake. I should have dragged my cousin out of the theater and releived the rest of us of our pain.

I felt that a refund was appropriate. This movie was terrible.
Apparently this opinion was shared by more than a few.

Matt Damon is the main character and despite his moronic babbling to himself throughout the movie, I found it neither witty or cute. Truthfully, I can't believe that he signed on, to star in this pile of rubbish.

Incidently, it should be known that I love movies and am not usually so harshly critical of what I see.
However....in this case I'll make an exception.
Don't waste your money or precious time.
